As we approach the close of 2024, we are setting sights on the exciting opportunities and challenges that await us in 2025. At Direct Line University (DLU), we empower our teammates across the company with the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive. Next year, we are doubling down on our commitment to people development and creating pathways for success.

One of the key pillars of our mission is fostering internal talent growth through accelerated development and succession planning. This approach helps employees prepare for new roles and challenges while ensuring that we are building a strong, capable workforce ready to meet our organizational goals.

Spotlight: John Eifert’s Journey

Meet John Eifert, a notable example of what’s possible when development meets opportunity. John has been a dedicated member of the CBRE | Direct Line team since August 2017, contributing to roles ranging from technician to superintendent to technical trainer in support of our Meta client in Ashburn, VA. With a diverse background that includes working as an engineer for the Naval Sea Systems Command Trident Submarine Program and as an independent consultant to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), John has an impressive career history. Notably, his contributions to DHS’s Application Support Center program led to critical advancements in biometric data collection that helped solve the infamous “DC Sniper” case.

In John’s current role as Technical Trainer, where he supports three Meta campuses in Ashburn, VA, he has helped shape the learning journey for new technicians by sharing his vast expertise and passion for the ICT field. He has also authored and co-authored essential training courses, including Basic Floor Plans and Elevations, Electrostatic Discharge, Laser Awareness, and Server Rack Handling and Installation.

John is especially passionate about onboarding new employees, a process he sees as an opportunity to instill the “Direct Line Way.” By introducing new team members to BICSI best practices and CBRE | Direct Line’s core values, John ensures that every new hire starts their journey with a solid foundation.
