Hoang Tran has worked at Direct Line Global for almost 10 years and as Project Engineer for the last 3 years. Here are some facts to know about Hoang Tran and what’s a day in the life of a Project Engineer working at Direct Line.
Hoang is responsible for ensuring the quality of work completed on various projects. He works closely with our clients, consultants, and other employees to ensure that projects are completed on time and according to specifications. Let’s hear from him directly about what it feels like to work at Direct Line Global and what skills are needed to excel in Project engineering.
“I like to get in early so that I have a jump on things. First, I start doing the basic email/voicemail check to ensure there weren’t any burning fires. Then, usually put together a “to-do” list each day. That usually comes out of what I’ve planned for the week.
I’ll meet with each Project Team to get an idea of where they are and whichever deliverable, we’re putting out this week or next. I’ll also get the status of each of the internal Project Teams. During the day, I must constantly resolve issues that come up. Those meetings can go on for hours, depending on how many of them I must do. But, on the other hand, they can also be swift, depending on the stage you’re at in the project.
After those meetings, I usually go to the job site to answer any technical questions my team might have for me. Then, if the job requires me to travel, I will travel to meet our customers and support the build.”
